First pass on new art to adorn the top of my illustrious blog. It needs some post-scanning composition fiddling and whatnot...more to come.
I have a ton of old sketches on Flickr that will never make it up over here. Check them out if you feel so inclined.
Work in progress for a new cap illustration/sketch. Bonus - click thru for an awesome reference pic.
UPDATED - The first step to my process is to use a non-photo blue pencil to try and remember how to draw. The next step is to redraw with ink and brush. Insert clever "tracer" joke here.
UPDATED UPDATE - A bunch of Caps drawn up by my Panel fellows can be seen over at characterwednesday.blogspot.com.
Found these guys (uber cheap) while garage sale-ing with the fam this weekend. While the boys were rummaging through the 10 cent toys, I had to lay down the big boy money. Sorry kids.
I love the vintage packaging...painted card art and file cards are the goods. Throw in some nostalgia and I'm all set.
Attention - This is a new post! Yep. It really is.
I recently received a flurry of spammy comments over on my long defunct LiveJournal page which made me realize I should probably be doing something with this site. FB and Google + be damned. Broadcasting to the masses is so 2010. According Google Anaylitics, it should just be me and Bran here. So, without futher ado, here are a couple Panel drawings from 2011. These drawings can be found on the cover and insided back cover of Panel: Pulp. Get yours over at Ferret Press.
Ok, this book is glorious. The reproduction of original art is stunning. Crappy cell pics do this book no justice. My only complaint is when you get to full page repros of 90's, Liefield-esqe comic pages, you will indeed die a little inside. I consider myself fortunate that I missed this era entirely.
