Sad Day All Around

I sketched this back in 2007.  I remember stumbling on a Flickr group that had pictures of New Yawkers posing with the burning towers from roof tops across town.  I guess I can kind of understand the rational.  I mean did any of us watching on television across the country think it would get worse at this point?  I still remember the absolute gob-smacked feeling when they came down.  It's still outside my realm of comprehension and I've seen the video sooo many times.  It's still just so....sad.

Joys of a Public Education

My oldest boy, Owen, recently started first grade.  I was prepared for him bringing home germs and the occassional colorful addition to his vocabulary.  I was not prepare for him to be exposed to things such as Pokemon.  He's now on day two of trying to barter for a binder of cards.  We sat down and sketched out some of his favorites this morning and he spent the rest of the day coloring them in Photoshop.  I'm hoping this is cures his Poke-cravings for the time being.

***I would be more concerned had he not taken to Thundercats so well.***
